Your Dental Questions, Answered

Everything you need to know about dental treatments, pricing, insurance, and Saluja Dento Max Fac Centre — Kanpur’s only NABH-accredited standalone dental clinic.

General

What makes Saluja Dento Max Fac Centre different from other dental clinics in Kanpur? +

Saluja Dento Max Fac Centre is Kanpur’s only NABH-accredited standalone dental clinic, recognized by the Quality Council of India (QCI). We offer 30+ dental treatments under one roof, led by Dr. Jagveer Singh Saluja, MDS Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with 16 years of experience. We’re empanelled with CGHS, ECHS, ESI, and UP Police — and have a 5.0-star Google rating with 1080+ patient reviews. Our commitment to NABH-grade safety protocols, advanced technology, and painless dentistry sets us apart from every other dental clinic in Kanpur.

What does NABH accreditation mean for me as a patient? +

NABH (National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers) is the highest standard of healthcare quality in India. For you as a patient, it means: hospital-grade sterilization protocols, verified staff qualifications with continuous training, full emergency preparedness, systematic patient safety monitoring, mandatory quality improvement through regular audits, and formal patient rights protection. Only a handful of dental clinics in all of India hold NABH accreditation — ensuring you receive care that meets the highest national standards.

Are you really the only NABH-accredited standalone dental clinic in Kanpur? +

Yes. We are the only standalone dental clinic in Kanpur with NABH accreditation and QCI recognition. While some hospitals in Kanpur may have NABH accreditation that covers their dental departments, no other standalone dental clinic in the city has achieved this distinction. The NABH accreditation process requires months of rigorous documentation, on-site inspections, and ongoing compliance — making it a significant trust differentiator for patients seeking quality dental care.

What is root canal treatment and is it painful? +

Root canal treatment (RCT) is a procedure to remove infected pulp from inside a tooth, clean and disinfect the canals, then seal them to prevent further infection. Modern RCT is virtually painless — performed under local anesthesia, most patients feel no pain during the procedure. Some mild soreness for 1-2 days after is normal and manageable with OTC painkillers. At our NABH-accredited clinic, we use advanced rotary endodontic technology for precise, comfortable, single-sitting RCT in many cases.

How long do dental implants last? +

Dental implants are designed to be a permanent solution for tooth replacement. With proper care — regular brushing, flossing, and dental checkups — implants can last 25+ years, and many last a lifetime. The titanium implant fuses permanently with your jawbone (osseointegration). The ceramic crown on top may need replacement after 10-15 years due to normal wear, but the implant itself is permanent. Success rate is 98% — one of the highest of any surgical procedure.

What is the difference between veneers and laminates? +

Laminates (also called laminate veneers) are a type of veneer. Veneers is the broader term for thin shells bonded to the front of teeth. Laminates specifically refer to ultra-thin ceramic shells (often requiring minimal or no enamel removal) used to improve tooth color, shape, and alignment. In practice, the terms are often used interchangeably. At our clinic, we use premium ceramic laminates that provide natural-looking, long-lasting (10-15 years) results with minimal tooth preparation.

Can adults get braces? +

Absolutely! There’s no age limit for orthodontic treatment. Adults can get braces or clear aligners (like Invisalign) at any age. In fact, more adults are choosing orthodontic treatment than ever before. Options include traditional metal braces, ceramic (tooth-colored) braces, lingual braces (behind teeth), and clear aligners. Treatment time varies — typically 12-24 months for adults. Book a consultation with Dr. Jagveer to discuss which option suits your needs and lifestyle.

What is flap surgery for gum disease? +

Flap surgery (periodontal flap surgery) is a procedure for advanced gum disease (periodontitis) where non-surgical cleaning isn’t sufficient. The gums are gently lifted to allow deep cleaning of tooth roots and bone surfaces, then repositioned. It helps reduce pocket depths, eliminate infection, and save teeth that might otherwise be lost. Performed under local anesthesia by our specialist, recovery takes 1-2 weeks. EMI options are available for this treatment.

What is same-day dentistry? +

Same-day dentistry refers to procedures completed in a single visit — like same-day crowns, same-day root canal, or same-day tooth restoration using advanced technology like CAD/CAM. At our clinic, many treatments that traditionally required multiple visits can be completed in one sitting, saving you time and reducing the number of appointments. Not all treatments qualify — Dr. Jagveer will advise if your treatment is eligible for same-day completion.

Do you treat dental emergencies? +

Yes! We provide emergency dental care 7 days a week during clinic hours. Severe toothache, knocked-out tooth, broken tooth, dental abscess, or facial trauma — call +91 99362 93232 and we’ll see you the same day. Dr. Jagveer Singh Saluja is an MDS Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery specialist trained in facial trauma treatment. For after-hours emergencies, call the same number and we’ll guide you. See our emergency dentistry page for first aid tips.

What is forensic odontology and do you offer it? +

Forensic odontology is the application of dental science to legal investigations — including identification of remains through dental records, bite mark analysis, and age estimation. Dr. Jagveer Singh Saluja has expertise in this specialized field. While not a common treatment need, we do offer forensic dental services for legal cases, insurance investigations, and identification purposes. Contact us directly for more information about forensic odontology services.

Pricing & Insurance

How much does a root canal cost in Kanpur? +

What is the cost of dental implants in Kanpur? +

Dental implant cost depends on the implant brand (standard vs premium), the number of implants needed, and whether additional procedures like bone grafting are required. We offer three tiers — Basic (standard brand), Standard (premium brand with guided surgery), and Premium (full-mouth restoration). EMI options are available (3/6/9/12 months). CGHS/ECHS/ESI may cover certain surgical components. Book a free implant assessment for a personalized cost estimate — visit our dental implants page for more details.

ECHS — Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (for defence veterans & families)
ESI — Employees’ State Insurance (for covered employees)
Eligible beneficiaries receive cashless treatment for covered dental procedures. Bring your card and valid ID — our team handles all paperwork. Some cosmetic-only procedures may not be covered by these schemes.

Are you UP Police empanelled? +

Yes, we are UP Police empanelled — providing dental care for Uttar Pradesh Police personnel and their families. Eligible members can receive covered dental treatments at our clinic. Bring your UP Police health card and valid ID proof. Our team will assist with all documentation and paperwork. Contact us for details on covered treatments under the UP Police health scheme.

We partner with multiple banks and NBFCs — credit card EMI is available on major banks (HDFC, ICICI, SBI, Axis, etc.). Basic KYC documents are required, with instant approval for eligible patients. You can combine insurance coverage with EMI for the remaining balance. Visit our EMI page to use the EMI calculator and see eligible treatments.

Are there any hidden charges? +

No hidden charges — ever. We provide transparent pricing with detailed cost estimates before any treatment begins. You’ll know exactly what each procedure costs, what’s included, and what your options are. We discuss all costs upfront, and you approve before we proceed. If additional procedures are needed during treatment, we explain the need and cost before performing them. This transparency is part of our NABH-accredited patient rights commitment.

Is the first consultation really free? +

Yes! Your first consultation at Saluja Dento Max Fac Centre is completely free. You’ll meet our expert dental team, discuss your concerns, get a preliminary assessment, and receive a personalized treatment plan — all at no cost and no obligation. This includes a clinical examination and discussion of treatment options. Diagnostic procedures like X-rays may have a separate charge if needed, but the consultation itself is free. Book your free consultation here.

Does insurance cover cosmetic dentistry? +

Purely cosmetic procedures (teeth whitening, laminates for appearance only, smile makeovers) are typically not covered by insurance or government health schemes. However, treatments that have both cosmetic and restorative benefits — like crowns for damaged teeth, fillings, or tooth replacement after trauma — may be partially covered under CGHS/ECHS/ESI/UP Police empanelment. We’ll help you understand exactly what’s covered during your consultation and maximize your insurance benefits.

Anxiety & Pain

I’m terrified of the dentist — what can you do to help? +

Dental anxiety is incredibly common, and we’re here to help. Our approach includes: painless injection technology (computer-controlled delivery), gentle and patient-centered care, clear explanation of every step before it happens, the ability to take breaks whenever you need, sedation options for nervous patients, and a calm, welcoming environment. Dr. Jagveer and our team are experienced in treating anxious patients with compassion and understanding. We’ll never rush you or judge your fear. Book a free consultation to discuss your concerns — we’ll create a comfortable plan for you.

Is dental treatment painful? +

Modern dental treatment is virtually painless. We use advanced local anesthesia that effectively numbs the treatment area. For injections, we use topical numbing gel first, then computer-controlled painless injection technology that delivers anesthesia slowly and comfortably. Most patients report feeling pressure but no pain during procedures. After treatment, any mild soreness is typically manageable with over-the-counter pain relievers. If you’re worried about pain, let us know — we have multiple comfort options available.

Do you offer painless injections? +

Yes! We use computer-controlled painless injection technology that delivers anesthetic at a precise, slow rate — significantly reducing the sting of traditional injections. We also apply a topical numbing gel before any injection, so you feel minimal to no discomfort. This technology is especially helpful for patients with needle phobia or dental anxiety. The entire process is designed to make your experience as comfortable as possible.

What if I have a dental phobia? +

Dental phobia is a recognized condition and we take it seriously. We offer: sedation options (oral sedatives, nitrous oxide), scheduled breaks during treatment, a “stop” signal system (raise your hand and we pause immediately), gradual desensitization appointments, and a judgment-free environment. Our team is trained in anxiety management techniques. Start with a free consultation where we just talk — no treatment, no pressure. We’ll build a plan at your pace. Call +91 99362 93232 to discuss options confidentially.

Can children be treated without anxiety? +

Absolutely. Our child-friendly pediatric setup is designed to make children feel safe and comfortable. We use age-appropriate language, show and explain instruments in a fun way, use gentle techniques, and never rush. For very anxious children, we offer mild sedation options. Parents are welcome to stay during treatment. Dr. Jagveer has experience making dental visits positive for children — building a foundation for lifetime dental health without fear. See our pediatric dentistry page for more details.

What sedation options are available? +

We offer several sedation options based on your needs and anxiety level:
Local anesthesia — numbs the treatment area (standard for most procedures)
Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) — mild sedation, helps you relax while staying conscious
Oral sedatives — prescribed medication taken before the appointment for deeper relaxation
IV sedation — available for complex surgical procedures, administered and monitored by trained professionals
Dr. Jagveer will recommend the appropriate option based on your treatment and anxiety level.

I had a bad experience before — can I trust dental treatment again? +

We understand how a previous bad dental experience can create lasting fear. Many of our patients come to us after difficult experiences elsewhere. Our approach is different: we listen to your story, explain everything before we do it, use painless techniques, allow you to control the pace with a “stop” signal, and never rush. We start with a free consultation — no treatment, just conversation. You can build trust at your own speed. Read our patient reviews — many mention overcoming their fear at our clinic. You’re in safe, compassionate hands here.

Technology

What dental technology do you use? +

We use advanced, NABH-grade dental technology including: Digital X-Ray (RVG) for instant, low-radiation imaging, Intraoral cameras for real-time visualization and transparent diagnosis, Advanced dental implant systems with 3D-guided surgery, Laser dentistry for painless soft-tissue procedures, Rotary endodontic systems for precise root canal treatment, Painless injection technology, Hospital-grade autoclave sterilization with documented cycles, and Modern ergonomic dental chairs. See our technology page for full details.

Are digital X-rays safe? +

Yes, digital X-rays (RVG) are significantly safer than traditional X-rays — they use up to 80% less radiation. The digital sensor captures the image instantly, which means: less radiation exposure, no chemical processing, instant results for faster diagnosis, and images that can be enhanced/zoomed for better accuracy. The radiation from a dental digital X-ray is extremely low — comparable to the natural background radiation you receive in a few hours of normal daily life. It’s completely safe for adults and children.

What is laser dentistry? +

Laser dentistry uses focused light beams for precise, minimally invasive dental procedures. Benefits include: less pain (often no anesthesia needed), reduced bleeding (laser cauterizes as it cuts), faster healing, less swelling, and reduced need for stitches. We use dental lasers for gum contouring, frenectomies, periodontal treatment, ulcer treatment, and certain soft-tissue procedures. Dr. Jagveer will advise if laser treatment is appropriate for your condition. Laser dentistry is especially beneficial for anxious patients.

Do you use intraoral cameras? +

Yes! We use intraoral cameras — small, comfortable cameras that show real-time, magnified images of your teeth and gums on a screen. This means you can see what the dentist sees — making diagnosis transparent and easy to understand. You’ll see cavities, cracks, gum issues, and treatment progress firsthand. It helps you make informed decisions about your dental care and builds trust through transparency. There’s no radiation involved — it’s simply a tiny camera, completely safe and painless.

How is your sterilization process? +

Our sterilization process meets NABH hospital-grade standards — the highest in India. We use: hospital-grade autoclaves for all instruments, documented sterilization cycles with biological monitoring, sealed instrument pouches opened in front of each patient, disposable items for single-use procedures, surface disinfection between every patient, and regular infection control audits. Our dedicated sterilization room is separate from treatment areas. As the only NABH-accredited standalone dental clinic in Kanpur, our sterilization protocols exceed those of most dental clinics.

Is your equipment NABH-grade? +

Yes. As a NABH-accredited clinic, all our equipment meets or exceeds national healthcare standards. This includes: certified dental chairs with programmable positions, calibrated digital X-ray systems, NABH-compliant sterilization equipment, verified dental implant systems (Straumann, Nobel Biocare, BioHorizons), FDA-approved dental materials, regular equipment maintenance and calibration schedules, and documented quality assurance processes. NABH accreditation requires ongoing compliance — ensuring our equipment remains at the highest standard through regular inspections.

Pediatric

When should my child first visit the dentist? +

We recommend your child’s first dental visit by age 1 or within 6 months of their first tooth appearing. This early visit is primarily about: checking tooth development, identifying any early concerns, guiding parents on proper infant oral care, establishing a positive dental experience from a young age, and building a foundation for lifetime dental health. Early visits prevent fear and catch developmental issues early. The first visit is quick, gentle, and focused on making your child comfortable.

Is pediatric dental treatment painful for children? +

Modern pediatric dentistry is designed to be painless and stress-free. We use: gentle techniques suited for children, topical numbing gel before any injections, painless injection technology, sedation options for anxious children (nitrous oxide, oral sedatives), and a child-friendly environment that reduces fear. Most pediatric procedures are completely painless. We explain everything in kid-friendly language and never rush. Our goal is to make every child’s dental visit positive — building trust for lifetime dental health.

How can I prepare my child for a dental visit? +

Here are tips to prepare your child:
Start early: Schedule the first visit by age 1
Be positive: Talk about the dentist as a friendly helper, not someone to fear
Read books: Children’s books about dental visits help normalize the experience
Play dentist: Take turns being the dentist and patient at home
Avoid scary words: Don’t say “it won’t hurt” — this introduces the concept of pain
Choose the right time: Schedule when your child is well-rested (morning usually best)
Stay calm: Children pick up on parent anxiety — stay relaxed
Bring comfort items: A favorite toy or blanket can help

What are dental sealants for children? +

Dental sealants are thin protective coatings applied to the chewing surfaces of molars (back teeth) to prevent cavities. They’re especially effective for children whose permanent molars have just erupted (around ages 6 and 12). The process is quick and painless: the tooth is cleaned, a special gel is applied, then the sealant is painted on and hardened with a light. Sealants can reduce cavity risk by up to 80% in molars. They’re clear or tooth-colored, so they’re invisible. They last several years and are checked at regular dental visits.

How often should children visit the dentist? +

Children should visit the dentist every 6 months for routine checkups and cleaning — the same as adults. However, your child may need more frequent visits if they have: high cavity risk, orthodontic needs, developmental concerns, or a history of dental issues. Regular 6-month visits help us catch problems early when they’re small and easy to treat, monitor tooth development, apply preventive treatments like fluoride and sealants, and reinforce good oral hygiene habits. We’ll recommend the right schedule based on your child’s needs.
