Emergency Dentistry FAQs
Quick answers to common questions about dental emergencies.
A dental emergency is any situation involving severe pain, uncontrolled bleeding, infection, facial trauma, or a knocked-out/broken tooth that requires immediate professional treatment. If you’re unsure whether your situation is an emergency, call us at +91 99362 93232 — we’ll assess and advise you over the phone.
For most dental emergencies, a dentist is the right choice — ER doctors typically don’t have dental equipment or expertise. However, if you have severe facial trauma, uncontrolled bleeding that won’t stop, or difficulty breathing/swallowing, go to the ER immediately. For all other dental emergencies, call us and we’ll see you the same day.
Within 30 minutes is ideal for the best chance of successful reimplantation. Pick up the tooth by the crown (not root), rinse gently, try to reinsert it into the socket, or store it in milk. Call us immediately at +91 99362 93232 and head to the clinic. Time is critical — every minute counts for saving a knocked-out tooth.
If the pain is mild and manageable with OTC painkillers, it may wait until tomorrow. However, if the pain is severe, worsening, accompanied by swelling, or disrupts sleep — it’s an emergency. Severe toothache often indicates infection that can spread. Call us and we’ll assess whether you need to be seen immediately.
Swelling with fever is a sign of spreading infection — this is a serious dental emergency that needs immediate treatment. Do not press the swelling or apply heat. Rinse with warm salt water and call us immediately at +91 99362 93232. If swelling is spreading rapidly or affecting breathing/swallowing, go to the ER.
Yes. Dr. Jagveer Singh Saluja is an MDS Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery specialist with 16 years of experience in facial trauma treatment. We handle jaw fractures, soft tissue injuries, dental trauma from accidents, sports injuries, and falls. For severe facial trauma, call us first — we’ll advise whether to come directly or go to the ER.
Emergency treatment costs are similar to regular treatment costs. You may pay a small emergency consultation fee, but the procedure itself costs the same whether it’s an emergency or scheduled. We provide transparent pricing before any treatment begins. CGHS/ECHS/ESI/UP Police empanelment is accepted for emergency treatment. EMI options available for major procedures.
Yes! We’re open Sundays from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for both regular and emergency appointments. For after-hours emergencies, call +91 99362 93232 — we will guide you on what to do and arrange to see you if needed. We’re committed to being available when our patients need emergency dental care.
